What changed
The build of 15 October changed the racial abilities of nine races, according to Blizzard’s beta development notes (opens in a new tab). The values below are rewritten from those notes; our race pages show the current numbers from the game files.
Tauren
Endurance now gives 2% critical damage and healing instead of 1% hit chance. Plainsrunning adds 3% mounted speed but you must keep moving a minimum distance, so stutter-stepping no longer keeps it. Cultivation cooldown is 15 minutes (was 60) and War Stomp 90 seconds (was 2 minutes).
Dwarf
Mace Specialization is replaced by Earth Fury, 2% critical damage and healing. Find Treasure can also find extra items in most chests.
Human
Sword Specialization is replaced by Ruthless, 2% critical strike chance.
Orc
Axe Specialization is replaced by Savage, 1% critical strike chance. Blood Fury cooldown rose to 3 minutes (was 2). Shatter Curse now dispels Curses and Banes instead of granting immunity, and cuts Magic damage taken by 5% (was 15%).
Skyborne (both races)
Wind Blessed haste is 3% (was 1%). Walk on Air cooldown is 90 seconds. Skysight and Read Leyline can be cast while moving, and Read Leyline lasts at least 30 seconds. More Elemental Convergences and Leylines spawn in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
Undead
Touch of the Grave has a 30% proc chance for casters and 20% for Paladins, Rogues and Warriors, with a 25 second internal cooldown, and no longer scales with Shadow damage. Will of the Forsaken is not available while Scatter Shot is on you.
Gnome
Eureka! is now an 8 second buff with no charges, with the same effect, and it also helps Power Word: Shield. It does not work correctly in stealth or invisibility.
Night Elf
Quickness movement speed now stacks with other speed increases, and shields are no longer shown in Wisp Form.
Troll
Regeneration health bonuses rose to 20% (was 10%).
