Hunter

Aimed Shot becomes a baseline ability at level 20. Traps can be used in combat, with a 30 second cooldown. Pets scale with the hunter’s gear, and Foxes join as a new pet family with Trickster’s Dance, which raises dodge chance and attack speed for 12 seconds. Each pet family gets its own ability.

New talents include Summon Hawk (Beast Mastery, up to two hawks), Lone Wolf (Marksmanship, 20% more damage with no pet) and Predator’s Edge (Survival, for melee critical damage and dual wielding). Source: Hunter and Druid deep dive (opens in a new tab).

Hunter changes in the 15 October build

Auto Shot and wands now need you to stand still for 0.5 seconds before they fire, as in early World of Warcraft, though Auto Shot keeps firing while you cast Aimed Shot or Sniper Shot. Trueshot Aura is raid wide, you can have one Fire trap and one Ice trap out at once, and pets now gain from Expertise. Crocolisk Dismember, Bat Sonic Blast and Bird of Prey Mine! got weaker effects with longer cooldowns. There is also a new Auto Attack/Auto Shot option that switches for you. Druid

Potions and nearly all similar consumables work while shapeshifted, weapon enchantments stay active, and racial abilities can be used in form. Lacerate is a new baseline ability at level 42.

Feral gets Shifting Power, which instantly gives 40 Energy for a mana cost, and Berserk. Restoration gets Wild Growth and Balance moves Insect Swarm to a 16 point talent. Source: Hunter and Druid deep dive (opens in a new tab).

Druid changes in the 15 October build

Faerie Fire now generates threat in Bear Form and Dire Bear Form and no longer triggers Omen of Clarity, Shred Rank 1 is learned at level 20 instead of 22, Moonkin Aura and Leader of the Pack are raid wide, and high ranks of Rejuvenation no longer block other Druids from applying theirs. Priest

Fear Ward and Devouring Plague become baseline at level 20 for every Priest, Divine Spirit at level 30 and Shadow Word: Death at level 32. Prayer of Healing now heals the target’s whole party. Racial spells are reworked, for example two new Gnome spells and Divine Grace for Humans.

Discipline gains Soul Warding and Penance, Holy gains Binding Heal and Prayer of Mending, and Shadow gains Devouring Contagion and Early Demise. Source: Priest and Warrior deep dive (opens in a new tab).

Priest changes in the 15 October build

Devouring Plague has a 24 second cooldown (was 1 minute), Shadow Word: Death has 18 seconds (was 12), and Vampiric Embrace cannot be resisted and has a 30 second cooldown. Mental Strength moved to row 2 and Improved Power Word: Shield to row 3, Improved Fade and Shadow Infinity are gone, and Dark Inspiration is a new row 4 Shadow talent that raises Spirit for you and your party after Mind Blast or a full Mind Flay. Devouring Contagion now spreads to 2 targets. Source: beta development notes (opens in a new tab).

Warrior

Rage from damage ignores armor, and it is tied to weapon speed. Tactical Mastery is baseline at level 14. Recklessness, Retaliation and Shield Wall no longer share a cooldown, and Thunder Clap works in Defensive Stance with a 6 second cooldown.

Arms gets Spearing Strike and Weaponmaster, Fury gets Boundless Rage and Raging Blows, and Protection gets Vanguard. Source: Priest and Warrior deep dive (opens in a new tab).

Warrior changes in the 15 October build

Battle Shout is raid wide, Slam is no longer pushed back by damage, Overpower works against much lower level enemies again, Lingering Rage no longer stops health regeneration after combat, and Improved Berserker Rage now removes movement impairing effects.
